Mentiras, claro que sí, me pasa desde el Lunes, día en que bajé un adelanto del próximo disco (en que llevaba trabajando cuatro años) de un tal Mike Patton, llamado "Peeping Tom". El disco sale al mercado el 30 de Mayo y sobra decir que ya lo compré. Más adelante le suben el precio los hijuemadres, para caer al piso (el precio) en unos meses...
Es un proyecto nuevo, como todo lo de él: nuevo, con la colaboración de artistas amigos o "afines", y como todo lo de él, bien diversos: desde Norah Jones hasta Massive Attack, una canción bossa-nova para pasar a otra con el duro de "Gorillaz". Al cabo ya había estado con Bjork, Sepultura, Korn, Dillinger Escape Plan entre otros... y cotizado si está ya que ha rechazado ofertas para ser el vocalista de los ex-Guns N' Roses y de INXS. Lo que ha dicho sobre el mismo es algo así como "si oyera radio así es como me gustaría que sonara". Lo hizo antes con "delirium cordia" cuando dijo: "Es mi versión de música ambiental ... la usaría para lavar los platos o planchar", también la calificó como "la banda sonora de una pesadilla inducida por fiebre":
"I wanted to do something challenging," he said, "and I thought that to do something more restrained and less all-out-rock would be a challenge for me. Something like background, or elevator, music. There's just so much background music in the world, and most of it probably wasn't designed to be background music, so I thought it would be an interesting challenge to actually set out to emulate that, to make elevator music."
So, Delirium Cordia is elevator music?
"Maybe," he laughs. "It's my version of ambient music. There's still a lot of grating stuff but it's not like the band is attacking you with a chainsaw. If I was listening to it at home I would have it on in the background, maybe while I did the dishes or the ironing or something. It's just very subdued."

It was sonically one of the coolest things I've ever heard. Dark, disturbing and all tempered with a sense of humor and fun. A heavy metal Spike Jones? He's a fucking genius. I can't wait to hear the PEEPING TOM record (one of his next projects)."

Avant-garde rock pioneer Mike Patton has discovered an unlikely fan in diminutive Hollywood legend Danny DeVito, following a performance at this year's (05) Coachella Music Festival in California.
A clearly buzzing DeVito - who is also a fan of Snow Patrol, Keane and goth legends Bauhaus - couldn't conceal his deep admiration for the former Faith No More singer after hearing his band Fantômas' set.
He gushed to PageSix.com, "Fantomas blew me away. They are super out of this world beyond! Mike Patton is a genius. You know he was in Faith No More and Mr. Bungle, right?
"Fantomas are experimental and just crazy."
No lo digo yo sino lo dicen el guitarrista de Anthrax y Danny De Vito. Para que después no me digan que es que son vainas mías de fanático.
